Unveiling the features of Turkish Gauze and Muslin Fabric

We use Muslin and Turkish gauze which are 100% organic cotton and unique to Sile, a district of Istanbul, Turkey located at the shores of the Black Sea.

It is already natural fiber and 100% cotton, due to the fact that it is woven from crimped fluffy yarn, and the processing stages make it different from others. For this reason, the sile fabric absorbs sweat and passes static electricity less. These fabrics provide the air flow that the body needs, making it easier for the body to breathe. This reduces sweating and ensures that the skin remains comfortable.

Natural fabrics maintain the natural pH balance of the skin.It does not stick to the body, it touches slowly.  It's hygienic. No need for ironing. It gives a person peace of mind, makes him/her feel good. Likewise, it also relaxes a person because it absorbs sweat and moisture. Easy to wash. The thinner it gets when washed, the thinner it looks more beautiful. The most important feature is that there is no synthetic substance in its structure.

Muslin and gauze fabrics are also antibacterial, preventing the growth of bacteria and fungi on your skin. They require no chemical processes, using only natural ingredients.

Crafted with Love in Sile, Turkey

Our garments are lovingly produced in the inspiring town of Sile, Turkey. It's here, amidst the beauty of nature, that we draw our inspiration to create fashion that resonates with the soul. The most interesting and characteristic stage of gauze fabric production is washing the fabric with Black Sea's water and drying it by laying it on Sile beaches.

PRODUCTION STAGE

1. The sile cloth is made entirely of crimped cotton yarns. First, the cotton threads are prepared for weaving. The journey of Şile fabric begins with the boiling of raw cotton threads in a traditional wood fire, copper cauldron, meticulously woven by the hands of Şile's artisans. From preparing the weaving warp to weaving the cloth, thousands of threads come together, creating a fabric steeped in history and bursting with character. Water and flour are boiled in a special mixture and equipped with the unique properties of the sile cloth.

2. After cooling, it is extracted so that there is no residue. Our threads are hand-wrung to extract water and sea-breeze dried.

3. After drying, it is wrapped in coils. In these coils, the warp of the Sile Cloth is prepared, this is the basis of weaving. There are about 1400 strands of yarn in a meter of Sile Cloth. One by one, 1400 strands of thread are passed through the pores of the frames by groping.

4. Then comes the weaving stage. Weaving is done on special looms, and the Sile cloth can only be woven on these looms, except for other machines.

5. After the woven cloths are soaked in lime skimming, they are taken to the beaches of Şile, but the magic of Şile cloth doesn’t stop there.

6. This fabric takes on its unique identity as it is washed in the less salty waters of the Black Sea and laid out to dry on the sandy beaches of Şile. It’s a labor of love, a gift from the people of Şile to you, embedding the local sea and sand into the very fibers of the fabric.

7. During the collection of fabrics, again, 5-6 people line up side by side, hold the cloth, stretch the cloth by pulling and, synchronously, shake off the cloths soaked in gold and reveal the pure cotton texture. Here is the Sile cloth...
